I’ve written five novels around a core group of four characters. Let’s meet them.
Eileen Aveline Wright
Half-French former ballet prodigy who suffers a crisis of confidence in her senior year at an elite performing arts boarding school. Flees from her future of Juilliard and stardom to follow in her father’s Army footsteps. Flies Apache helicopters as a Warrant Officer until a crash takes her left foot and her lifelong friend. Born in Ajaccio, Corsica, France to a French mother and an American father, she is intensely proud of both halves.
Often confused with Alizée despite not being able to sing.
Richard Timothy
Retired pro cyclist. Solid career and several Tour de France appearances as a domestique as well as an impressive record in the Classics races. Tactically and strategically brilliant and loyal as a racer, he continues to use those skills in his post-retirement life as the owner of a cycling team.
Often confused with Peter Sagan despite being almost three years older than Peto and over three inches taller.
Karl “Foxtrot” Hyacinth
Amateur court jester and bagpipe player, Karl is the head of a Real Estate Investment Trust by succession after an unfortunate catastrophe caused the top two executives to disappear. He is only considered eccentric because he is rich—otherwise he’d be called nutty. He has the heart of a child and the soul of a mystic. Master of the idea so stupid that it makes tons of money in a society even stupider.
Often confused with Jeff Bridges despite being young enough to be his son.
Orion Maverick Hyacinth
Even by border collie standards, Orion is smart. He has an excellent sense of humor and a love of Steely Dan and the jazz singer Jane Monheit. Although he communicates mainly through burps, he is a remarkably good typist. Overindulged, but will fight to the death for his people if necessary.
Often confused with Lassie by people who can’t tell the difference between a border collie and a rough collie.
