I hope you had a good 2025 and have a fresh start to 2026. I didn’t post between Thanksgiving and New Year’s because, let’s be honest, who wants to read anything but comfy books during the holiday season. Besides, my current work-in-progress has been going so well and my mental energy has been going to that.
But with the new year comes new material. After some delays, Ride On will be out very soon. I’m also starting the new year with a ton of new material to read. I’ve finally started my project to finally read the Harry Potter series in order to clear the way for my next big reading project, the complete In Search of Lost Time (Modern Library edition), which has been waiting for me since Christmas 2023.
For Christmas, in addition to the elegantly-bound set of The Complete Calvin & Hobbes, I got a creative gift that I wasn’t expecting: a copy of Der rote Kampfflieger (“The Red Fighter Plane”) by Freiherr Manfred von Richthofen, better known to pilots and readers of Peanuts as the Red Baron. To go with it, I got a scarf so I can play the part of his nemesis, Snoopy’s Flying Ace.
