It’s four a.m. under a starry sky. Bleary-eyed, I count sheep hoping for dreams among the gathering clouds and sudden thunderstorm. Come morning, the sky is clear, with small clouds that look like the sheep I had dreamed of.

I wish I hadn’t had that skydiving accident that left me flat as a turtle.
