If you don’t know what story cubes are, see the introduction to the story cubes series.

Long, long ago, aliens came to Earth. It wasn’t called Earth then; in fact, it wasn’t called anything at that point because nothing sentient existed to call it anything. They were rich aliens but poor in friends, so they seeded the planet with things necessary to grow themselves some pets. They then went back home and waited millennia to see what their cultivation would unlock.

This year, 2025, they came back. They saw what was going on as the civilization they’d had such hope for had turned into sheep, some blindly following politicians, others staring into smartphones. They promptly bailed out and went back to their home planet.

When they got there, they checked to make sure their hubcaps were still on the spaceship and made a vow never to go back to that side of the galaxy again.

I shouldn’t have to say this, but this is a work of fiction—at least as far as the aliens go. We all know that spaceships don’t have hubcaps.

The little paratrooper isn’t in the block with the rest of the cubes because it is supposed to look like it jumped out of the plane.

The comments section is the perfect place for what you came up with. I’m sure you did better than I did this week!
